Rental and Utilities Assistance
Clayton County residents, impacted by Coronavirus (COVID-19), can apply for the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) funding for rent and utilities.
Emergency Rental Assistance
For Tenants and Landlords
Tenants must:
- Provide a valid Photo ID for applicant
- Provide contact information including your email address and phone number
- Provide proof of income (Paystubs, 2020 taxes, W2 or signed declaration)
- Provide a copy of the Lease Agreement or written attestation from a Verifiable Landlord or Management Agent
- Provide an eviction notice, late notice or dispossessory (if applicable)
- Provide a past Due Water/Sewer, Gas, Electric, or Internet Utility Notice(s)
- Provide a documentation of unemployment or loss of income since March 2020
- Provide a documentation of any previous rental assistance received since March 13, 2020
- Provide any other documentation that indicates risk of homelessness
Landlords must:
- Provide a valid W-9 for payment to the owner of the rental property
- Confirm that any late or rental arrears submitted for consideration are for Clayton County, properties only
- Provide a Rent Ledger & Lease Agreement
- Provide SSN or Tax ID Number for the landlord or rental property owner/company
- Confirm whether or not a tenant receives a rental subsidy and the subsidy amount
- Provide contact information

The Clayton County Board of Commissioners recognize the harsh and long-term impact the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic presents for its constituents/residents. We are aware of the critical need for assistance and resources. In an effort to help residents during these uncertain financial times, residents are encouraged to:

- For information about evictions, contact Georgia Legal Aid ( www.georgialegalaid.org )
- Apply and submit all required documentation to determine eligibility
Renters that receive a monthly federal subsidy (i.e. Housing Choice Voucher, Public Housing, and Project Based Section 8), apply with Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA): Georgia Rental Assistance (GRA) Program
